Form King supports 2 themes - Light and Dark mode. You can set your preference here and all pages will load under your preferred colour scheme.
Units Display
Wherever we display betting stakes as dollars, we also support displaying as units. 1 unit (1U) is equal to 1% of your bank (see Bank Size setting).
Bank Size
By setting your total betting bank size (in dollars), you can leverage recommended staking, and also "units mode", where display of betting transactions are shown as units (fractions of bank size) rather than in currency. A $10k bank size would mean you typically spend $100 per race (a.k.a 1 unit). If you're not sure what to set for this value, multiply your typical confident bet size by 100.
Past Run Comments
Prefer FK Comment
For older past form (until 2024), we have some human-annotated video form comments. By enabling this setting, you'll force the Form King generated comment to be shown in preference to any manual video comments. Note - if we do not have a human video comment, we will always include the FK comment.
Include sectional breakdown
Disable this setting if you don't want the S-8, 8-4, 4-F sectional breakdown in the Form King generated past run comments.
Sectional Benchmark To Use
If you've enabled the sectional breakdown in past run comments, then you can choose between various benchmarks for the S-8/8-4/4-F breakdown. Field Average will show you how the runner went against the average of that race field in each section. All Average is a fixed class par of 90 on the FK rating scale, which is similar to a Midweek BM72. Class par is specific to the field strength of the past run.
My Meeting Comment - Past Run Cards
You can enable this setting to include your personal meeting comment in all past run cards.
My Race Comment - Past Run Cards
You can enable this setting to include your personal race comment in all past run cards.
My Runner Comment - Past Run Cards
You can enable this setting to include your personal runner comment in all past run cards.
Next To Go Carousel
Enabled
This is a blanket setting for turning on and off the Next To Go top bar. If disabled, it will never show. If enabled, it will show as long as the time until the next race is less than the configured value below for "Max Hours Until Next Race".
Max Hours Until Next Race
A secondary setting to control whether to show the Next To Go bar. Default is 3 hours, which means if there's not an upcoming race within 3 hours from the current time, it will not show, despite being enabled.
Refresh Interval (Mins)
A number in minutes (between 1 and 15) that dictates how often we clean out tiles for races that have been run more than 5 mins ago. Default is 3 minutes.
Max Items
The maximum number of tiles to include in the carousel, which can be between 3 and 20.
Included States
A multiple select of states to include races from. If you select All States, we'll include races from wherever we have them.
Meeting Grades
A multiple select of meeting grades to include races from. If you select All Grades, we'll include races from all types of meetings.
Form Guide
Default Tab
You can set a default tab to be the active view when any form guide is loaded. The system default is the form table view.
Display live odds
You can hide live odds when the form guide loads. This will suppress any references to the live market odds, which can help people who wish to avoid being biased by the market's opinion, prior to forming their own.
Prefer Full Past Form Table
On the Class tab of the form guide, you can choose to show the new full class table by default, instead of the old "last 10 runs" table. The new table has 1 row per past run, and allows for a deep dive into the form. It also filters with the graphs above. The older table shows the last 10 start weight-adjusted ratings. Regardless of your default view, you can switch between them easily.
Individual Track Speeds (Performance tab)
In the Performance tab, the FK Track Speed filter can either group into categories like Fast, Good, Dead, Slow, Heavy, or it can be expanded to individual grades, like Good 3, Dead 4. The system default is to group them.
Show Date Filter (Class Tab)
In the Performance tab, you can opt in to having a Date Range Filter, which will be shown below the worm graphs and Distance Filter.
Max Runs Per Horse (Full Form Table)
The Performance tab of the form guide has access to the last 12 runs for each horse. You can set a max number to show by default (between 1 and 12), and then this can be modified from a text field above the table itself. Currently, only the full past form table supports this setting.
Jockey/Trainer Stats - Date Range
The Jockey/Trainer tab of the form guide will pull data for all jockeys and trainers in today's race. Historically, we asked for all data but due to load time and performance constraints, we made the new default 1 Year of data. You can select 1 or 3 years, or go back to all data. Beware that selecting All Time will most likely result in at least 10 second load times. Also, beware that in non-final fields mode, we will force it to 1 Year, due to the large number of trainers nominating horses.
Speed Maps
Default Grid
You can set a default speedmap grid. The system default is 4 rows, 12 columns. Allowed values are: Rows (3 to 8), Columns: (8-12).
Number of Columns: Number of
Rows:
Autosave Grid Changes
By default, dragging and dropping tiles on the grid will auto save your map to the database. You can disable this if you only want to save manually by clicking the save button.
Number Of Runs To Use
When calculating the speedmap progress bars, we include PIR, lengths from leader and real speed data from the last 8 runs by default. You can change that number to anything between 1 and 12.
Force Rail to Bottom
The system default is to move the rail between the top and the bottom of the grid when dealing with Anti-Clockwise (rail top) and Clockwise (rail bottom) racing direction. Enable this flag to force the rail to the bottom of the speedmap and the grid at all times. When this is enabled, we will lay out the grid and the progress bars in opposite directions, since the rail is not changing.
Worksheet
Default Base Rating for Today
In order to provide you with an automatic rated price for all runners, the computer must select a past run, or have a default rating number as a starting point (a base rating). Users can then make adjustments to the base in the Worksheet. We offer the ability to average the best X run(s) from the last Y start(s). This should provide quite a bit of flexibility. System default is to take the average of the best 2 runs from the last 3 starts.
Average the best run(s) from
the last start(s).
First Starter Default Ratings
When pricing a market using ratings, all first starters must be given a rating to allow the system to calculate a price. You can set a default number here for each meeting grade. These ratings will be considered at Weight For Age, and then adjusted for weight carried, so that things like 2YO races are appropriately adjusted. Anything set here will be overriden if you've opted to track the live market for first starters, or all runners.

Use Market Expected Rating for First Starters
When live market odds are available and this flag is enabled, the Worksheet will create a rating for first starters that is derived from the current price (adjusted to 100%) and the FK likely winning standard. Enabling this flag overrides the "First Starter Default Ratings" setting.
Default Adjustment Unit
You can set a default unit for your adjustments. This unit will be applied for all adjustments you make, whether they be for speedmap, jockey, improvement etc. We'll use this unit in conjunction with your preferred adjustment amount (default 0.5) each time you click to make a ratings point adjustment.
Default Adjustment Amount
You can set the default adjustment amount, as well as the unit. The system default 0.5, which would apply and 0.5 amount of the unit as an adjustment, each time click to make an adjustment. If you had "LENGTHS" selected as your adjustment unit, we would work out what 1 full length is in rating points, and then apply 0.5 of that full length as the adjustment. You can set any value between 0 and 1 for the adjustment amount.
Kelly Strength
In order to provide recommended staking using a modified, fractional Kelly criterion, we need to define the fraction of the full Kelly strength to use. In horse racing, it is not recommended to use "full Kelly", given the random nature of race outcomes and likelihood of bad runs leading to bankruptcy under such extreme staking. The system default is 0.125, which is 1/8 Kelly. Beware that as you increase this value closer to 1 (full Kelly), you're increasing the portion of your bank that the computer will emplore you to stake in any race, when you have a perceived edge.
Sorting Mode
Historically, the Worksheet always re-sorted by rating/price as adjustments were made (Auto). We now offer a fixed table sort by TAB/Saddlecloth number, or barrier. You can also manually sort by many of the columns by clicking the column header.
Custom Adjustment Column 1
You can give a custom name to the ADJ-1 adjustment column (Max 7 characters). You can also assign an increment and unit for each adjustment click (left and right mouse clicks). The default increment is 0.1 Rating Points.
Custom Adjustment Column 2
You can give a custom name to the ADJ-2 adjustment column (Max 7 characters). You can also assign an increment and unit for each adjustment click (left and right mouse clicks). The default increment is 0.1 Rating Points.
Custom Adjustment Column 3
You can give a custom name to the ADJ-3 adjustment column (Max 7 characters). You can also assign an increment and unit for each adjustment click (left and right mouse clicks). The default increment is 0.1 Rating Points.
Custom Adjustment Column 4
You can give a custom name to the ADJ-4 adjustment column (Max 7 characters). You can also assign an increment and unit for each adjustment click (left and right mouse clicks). The default increment is 0.1 Rating Points.
Custom Adjustment Column 5
You can give a custom name to the ADJ-5 adjustment column (Max 7 characters). You can also assign an increment and unit for each adjustment click (left and right mouse clicks). The default increment is 0.1 Rating Points.
Skewing Coefficients
The Confidence select can vary the aggressiveness of the skew added to auto pricing. By skew, we mean making the top raters shorter and lesser chances longer. The default settings are Not Selected/UNKNOWN=0 (no skew), LOW=0.1, AVERAGE=0.4, GOOD=0.7, HIGH=1. Values can range between 0 and 2, however you should beware that a coefficient greater than 1 can result in quite a severe skew towards your top rater. We'd advise having a play around with some markets and different skewing settings before putting real money down.

Required Overlay Modifier
The Confidence select can be set to modify the required overlay, based on how confident you are in your market. The default settings are Not Selected/UNKNOWN=1, LOW=1.1, AVERAGE=1, GOOD=0.95, HIGH=0.9. A value of 1 results in no modification to the required overlay, and a value of 1.1 will increase the required live market odds by 10% (multiply by 1.1).

Stake Modifier
The Confidence select can be set to modify the recommended stake, based on how confident you are in your market. The default settings are Not Selected/UNKNOWN=1, LOW=0.5, AVERAGE=0.8, GOOD=1, HIGH=1.2. A value of 1 results in no modification to the recommended stake, and 0.5 halves the recommendation.
